Bike Taxi Wins on Speed and Loses on Overhead
Riders choose a bike to beat traffic on a short, cheap trip. A fare of a dollar or two leaves little room for slow matching, long pickups, or manual payment handling. The platform has to match in seconds, keep pickups short, collect without friction, and handle the safety rules specific to a pillion seat.
The Bike Trip Lifecycle
Six states, compressed. A typical bike trip is over in fifteen minutes, so matching and pickup take a larger share of it than in taxi.
- State 01RequestedPickup and drop set; fare shown for bike, e-scooter, and auto.
- State 02MatchedOffer to the nearest captain with a short accept window.
- State 03ArrivingLive ETA, masked calling, short free-waiting window.
- State 04On tripStarted with the ride OTP; speed and route monitored.
- State 05CompletedWallet charged or cash recorded; both sides rate.
- State 06SettledCommission or daily fee taken, rental deducted, captain paid.

Five Surfaces, Configured for Bike Taxi
Many bike captains rent their vehicle, so the fleet portal covers rental and EV battery swaps as well as ownership.
One-tap rebook
Frequent short trips like home to metro saved and rebooked in a single tap.
Upfront fare by class
Bike, e-scooter, and auto priced before booking, so the rider picks on price and ETA.
Wallet-first payment
Prepaid wallet and UPI as the default, so low fares settle without card fees or change.
Ride OTP
Trip starts only when the captain enters the rider's code at pickup.
Pillion safety
Helmet confirmation, captain photo and plate, live trip sharing, and SOS.
Women-rider preferences
Option to request a woman captain where the market and supply allow it.
Short accept window
Requests expire in seconds and move to the next captain, keeping time to match low.
Back-to-back trips
Next request offered near the current drop before the trip ends, cutting dead kilometres.
Helmet check
Photo check of the spare helmet at shift start, required in markets that mandate it.
Daily earnings and incentives
Trips, earnings, and progress toward per-day targets, the unit bike captains track.
Battery status for EVs
Charge level and nearest swap station shown for electric scooters.
Delivery jobs between rides
Parcel or food jobs offered in quiet hours, if the operator enables them.
Rental plans
Daily or weekly vehicle rent, deducted from captain earnings automatically.

Owner payouts

Accident reporting
Captain or rider files an incident with photos, routed to insurance.
Captain suspension
Block pending review, with the reason recorded on the profile.
Fare cards
Minimum fare, per km, per minute, and night charges by city and class.
Surge with tight caps
Low base fares mean small multipliers; caps keep bike cheaper than auto.

Per-trip commission or a flat daily fee for captains, set per city.
Service area rules
Maximum trip distance, no-go zones, and highway exclusions for two-wheelers.
Captain onboarding
Licence, registration, insurance, and background checks in one queue.

Integrations
On a low-fare trip, payment cost and pickup distance decide the margin. Maps and wallets carry most of the weight.
Where Bike Taxi Margin Actually Goes

Bike & Scooter Taxi FAQ
Questions specific to running bike and scooter taxi on DeliveryStack.
Still have questions? Contact our support team
Can bike taxi run on the same platform as our taxi service? +
Yes. Bike and e-scooter are vehicle classes on the same matching engine, with their own fare cards, service area rules, and onboarding documents. Riders see them side by side in one app, and admin runs both from one console.
How do you keep matching fast? +
Requests go to the nearest available captain with a short accept window, then move to the next captain immediately. Captains near the end of a trip are offered the next request near their drop. Window length and search radius are set per zone.
Do you support EV fleets and vehicle rental? +
Yes. Fleet owners assign scooters to captains, deduct daily or weekly rent from earnings, and track battery swaps and charge levels. Swap network data can be pulled in where the provider offers an API.
Can captains take delivery jobs too? +
If you enable it. Parcel and food jobs can be offered to bike captains in quiet hours, with acceptance rules deciding who sees what. Earnings from rides and deliveries settle in one daily run.
What about local regulation for bike taxis? +
Rules differ by city, and some restrict or license bike taxis specifically. The platform supports helmet checks, commercial registration fields, trip records, and service area limits. Permits and approvals remain the operator's responsibility.
